Harsh Sanghvi Becomes Gujarat Deputy CM as New Cabinet Takes Oath; Rivaba Jadeja Joins Council of Ministers

Gandhinagar: The political landscape of Gujarat saw a major development as the new state cabinet took oath at the Raj Bhavan on Friday. Harsh Sanghvi, one of the youngest and most dynamic leaders in the BJP, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister, while Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, was among the new faces inducted into the council of ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony was held in the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who expressed confidence that the new team would continue to drive Gujarat’s growth and development agenda forward.

The inclusion of Sanghvi and Rivaba Jadeja in key roles highlights the BJP’s strategy of combining youthful energy with political experience. Sanghvi, known for his strong organizational skills and leadership in the Home and Youth Affairs portfolios, has earned a reputation as a people’s leader. His promotion to Deputy CM is seen as recognition of his performance and popularity.

Rivaba Jadeja’s induction is another significant move, marking her rapid political rise since joining the BJP in 2019. Seen as a strong woman leader with grassroots appeal, her presence in the cabinet symbolizes the party’s push toward greater women’s representation in state politics.

The new cabinet includes a mix of senior leaders and emerging politicians, with portfolios expected to be allocated soon. Party insiders suggest that this reshuffle aims to energize the BJP’s governance model in Gujarat while preparing for upcoming political challenges.

Speaking after the ceremony, CM Bhupendra Patel said, “Our new cabinet represents the aspirations of every Gujarati citizen. Together, we will continue to advance the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a prosperous and inclusive Gujarat.”

The BJP has maintained its political dominance in Gujarat for over two decades, and this new cabinet formation is expected to reinforce its hold while appealing to youth, women, and first-time voters across the state.
